About The Power of Play

 The Power of Play Nursery in Combe Down is a small, intimate setting for our children with a wonderful garden and use of the adjoining Glasshouse playing fields. Our baby base is upstairs over two rooms and our children aged 2-5 are based downstairs. Our interior design aims to provide a cosy homely feel for our children, in order to provide a safe, secure and inspiring environment for children to explore. An environment set up around the children is at the centre of our approach, with a focus on allowing their wellbeing and self-expression to develop.

The relationships between children, staff and parents are powerful. We pride ourselves on getting to know you as people. Each child is an individual and the diversity of them and their family is accepted and respected here.

We have high expectations for children’s learning. All children are capable, curious and resourceful. We give them time to explore ideas in depth and we scaffold their learning to help them grow through making meaningful connections.

Part of growing up is becoming a member of your local community, and learning to love the world around you. We take our children on regular trips into the local area, and form close bonds with our communities to celebrate the people and nature we live and learn alongside
